Baby Suitcase

Well the baby is packed and ready to go – I have had the babies clothes, washed and folded and sitting on my dresser for about 2weeks now, I finally packed them during the week.

This gorgeous little picnic basket was given to me by my grandmother (paternal), when I was pregnant with LB#1 she gave this too me chock full of gorgeous baby clothes, I have used it to take both lots of baby stuff to hospital for both boys, and now baby #3 is also packed and ready to go!

 Baby Jackets

These two tiny jackets are packed and they make my heart flutter with joy – the white one on the left was knitted by my grandmother (maternal) when I was pregnant with LB#1, both little boys have worn it and it is now baby #3 turn.

The creamier jacket was knitted by my great-grandmother for me when I was born, this is one of three that my mother kept and passed onto me. I cannot tell you how much it means to me,  I wore these jackets and now all my children have/will wear these jackets – they are beautiful and priceless.

My mother kept them in her bottom drawer, carefully wrapped in tissue for 28years before passing them onto me, the wool is thick and the knitting is strong and careful – how I love them!

When this last child of mine grows out of them (which won’t take long, let me tell you) I too will carefully wash, fold and wrap in tissue ready for a third generation.

I cannot bring myself to pack my own bags, I don’t know why. With both boys now I left the packing to the last minute and it somehow feels like it gives me something to do whilst waiting……………….this time I am booked in for a planned c-section I will probably pack the day before, should I go early – well I guess I will pack then!!!! I feel too restless to pack my own bags!
